Art Projects has been selected to commission new artworks for UCLH’s state-of-art Proton Beam Therapy Hospital in central London. The £175M, 34,400 sqm development is the first major proton beam therapy unit in the UK. Five floors of the building are underground with patient bedrooms, a central courtyard and day-lit atrium above. The facility is the first private centre in the UK to offer this specialist type of radiotherapy that attacks cancer cells with less damage to surrounding tissues than conventional treatments.
