Commissioned by Trenport Investments as the focal point of their newest residential development, Peters Village, Kent.
“The Gateway”, a five metre high sculpture designed by Mark Maxwell was created from Corten steel is located at the main entrance to the village on the roundabout. A series of workshops in collaboration with the nearby communities identified and explored locally significant themes such as the industrial heritage of the site as the former Peters Cement factory (which in its heyday exported cement across Europe), ecological, historic and archaeological importance.
