Chartwell Land commissioned David Gerstein to create this site-specific sculpture to celebrate and commemorate the Roman Road, the A12, which is one of the oldest main roads in Britain and followed the original course of the Romans travelling from London to East Anglia.
The vibrant, contemporary pop-art style of this sculpture features Roman centurions en route north. The work is situated at the Gallows Corner roundabout, alongside the A12 and a retail park.
