We are a vibrant creative art consultancy specialising in commissioning bespoke art for existing and new developments. Our main objective is to create thoughtful, memorable art that transforms public spaces. These site-specific designs create enduring links with the past, present and future. Locations become enriched with meaningful identity, encouraging a sense of place and connecting people to the built environment. So whether it's a single piece or a strategic art masterplan, all our work is bound by the unwavering desire to bring art outside the gallery space to a broad audience. We aim to make art procurement as simple and enjoyable as possible by managing every detail of the process from initiating concepts through to artist selection, contracts, fabrication, delivery and installation on site. A collaborative approach enables us to work closely with clients, stakeholders, emerging and established artists. We cover a wide variety of sectors including healthcare, workplace, aviation, hospitality and residential.
Samantha Twomey is the founder and Managing Director of Art Projects. Formed in 2001, the company advises corporate and private clients on commissioning and collecting contemporary art. From large-scale strategic art programmes for commercial property developments to small scale projects identifying just one important, focal artwork, no project is too large or small.
Holding a PhD in History of Art (specialising in decorative wrought iron from 1660-1720) and a Diploma in Arts Management, Samantha has advised national and international businesses on art acquisitions including many major banks, law firms and financial service institutions. Samantha has gained extensive experience of the art market through work at the Tate Gallery and Sothebys. With a passion for innovation and continued learning, she is active in many art-related societies including Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts, and membership of the Association of Art Historians and The Fine Art Trade Guild. A strong belief in “art for all” combined with a hands-on, practical approach, has led Samantha to be involved in several experimental community art projects, often involving large scale public art consultations, resulting in unique public art works.
